John Edward Erickson, 61, passed away after a long battle with an illness on March 26, 2016.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Betty Jean Erickson, brother, James (Jimmy) Robert Erickson, and brother-in-law, Ricky Willis.  He is survived by his siblings, Ronald (Marsha Kay) Erickson, Marcia (Craig) Shumaker, Jennifer Erickson, Michelle Willis, and Denise (Geoff) Kurker as well as 11 nieces and nephews and many extended family members here in the US and abroad.

John served in the Army and had many trades during his career.  He was always the life of the party, told the most amazing jokes and had the best memory of anybody in the family.  He will be sorely missed.

John’s memorial service will take place at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at the Indiana Funeral Care, Harry W. Moore Chapel at 8151 North Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, Indiana.  Visiting will begin at 5:00 pm.  John has been cremated per his request.  His ashes will be spread with his brother, Jimmy, close to their favorite cabin in Morgan Monroe State forest at a future date to be determined.
